The perforated ASQ cerclage pessary from Dr Arabin will have a supporting role for the cervix during pregnancy.

It is usually prescribed to pregnant women to better close the cervix and support it to reduce the risk of preterm labor .

The cerclage pessary has been designed for pregnant women whose condition, during their pregnancy, requires the support of the cervix minimizing the risk of premature birth .

The pessary-cerclage will therefore be recommended for pregnant women:

  • having already experienced pregnancies with premature or multiple births,
  • having to remain in a standing station or for walking,
  • having a weakened cervix,
  • suffering from prolapse,
  • having feelings of pelvic heaviness.

The cerclage pessary will not close the cervix but support it and tilt it towards the sacrum.

The strapping pessary can be sterilized by steam up to 134 degrees or by hot air at 250 degrees.

The cerclage pessary , which must be kept until the 37th week of pregnancy, must be fitted and removed by a healthcare professional.

The size of cerclage pessary to choose is determined by the practitioner.

We propose to detail and explain the 14 different sizes of the cerclage pessary:

  • The first number corresponds to the largest external diameter between 65 and 70 nm.
  • The second number corresponds to the height of the cerclage pessary (between 17 and 30 min)
  • The third number, the diameter inside the cerclage pessary (between 32 and 35 min)

To select the size that suits your anatomy, use the drop-down menu on the sheet of this pessary.
